How to play Hoop Shots
You have 60 seconds to score as many points as you can. Press on the ball, drag in the direction you want to throw and let go; the longer the drag, the harder the shot. A dotted arc previews the flight. After every shot the ball moves to a new spot and the hoop changes position, and after 20 seconds the hoop starts bobbing up and down.
A swish that doesn't touch the rim scores 3 points, and a basket that touches the rim scores 2. Make three in a row and the ball catches fire, adding a bonus point to every basket until you miss. A shot still in the air when the clock hits zero still counts.
Tips
- βΈWatch the dotted arc while you drag. When it clears the front of the rim and drops towards the middle, let go.
- βΈThe backboard is your friend: a ball that bounces off the board and drops in without touching the rim still counts as a swish.
- βΈMisses cost nothing except your streak, so shoot quickly. Every second you spend lining up is a second off the clock.
- βΈOnce the hoop starts moving, release as it reaches the height your arc is aiming for.
Hoop Shots FAQ
- How many points is a swish?
- Three. A basket that touches the rim scores two. While you're on fire after three baskets in a row, each basket earns one extra point.
- Can I play with a keyboard?
- Yes. Left and Right change the angle, Up and Down set the power, and Space shoots. The dotted arc shows the shot before you take it.
- Does the hoop move?
- It moves to a new place after every shot. After the first 20 seconds it also bobs up and down, swinging further as the game goes on.
