How to play Maze Muncher
Steer your muncher around a glowing maze and eat every dot to clear the level. Four ghosts roam the corridors, and touching one costs a life unless they have turned blue. Use the arrow keys, WASD, swipes or the on-screen d-pad. You can press a direction early and the muncher turns as soon as the way is open. The side tunnels lead to the opposite side.
Dots are worth 10 points and the four power pellets 50. A power pellet turns the ghosts blue for a few seconds so you can eat them for 200, 400, 800 and 1,600 points. A bonus fruit appears twice per level. You start with three lives and earn one more at 10,000 points.
Tips
- βΈEach ghost has a habit: red chases you directly, pink heads for a spot ahead of you, cyan wanders at random and orange patrols the corners.
- βΈSave power pellets until ghosts are close. Eating all four on one pellet is worth 3,000 points.
- βΈGhosts flash white when their blue time is nearly over, so stop chasing them then.
- βΈGhosts slow down in the side tunnels but you do not, which makes a tunnel a good escape route.
Maze Muncher FAQ
- What do the power pellets do?
- They turn the ghosts blue for a few seconds. Blue ghosts move slowly and wander, and if you eat one its eyes float back to the ghost house.
- Does Maze Muncher get harder?
- Yes. Each level makes you and the ghosts a little faster, up to a limit, and shortens the blue time, down to two seconds.
- When does the bonus fruit appear?
- After you eat 70 dots and again after 170. It stays for 9 seconds and is worth 100 points on level 1, rising to 1,000 from level 5.
